Leadership

John M. Ruther, CPA, MBA, owner of the Ruther Group, LLC has supplied strategic leadership in Accounting, IT, Sales and Corporate Operations since his professional career began in 1988. Upon completion of undergraduate studies, John embarked on a 20 year career with a global chemical company.

Among his achievements, Mr. Ruther led a strategic transformation team for reorganizing all facets of the company. Upon successful completion, he transitioned to Head the IT department in order to provide employees with tools for success and reengineered processes in the new structure.

The efforts enabled company revenues to grow from $800 million to $1.4 billion with record profits in just five years.

In 2008, he formed the Ruther Group, LLC to help small business owners achieve their goals through strategic planning, enhanced operational efficiency, and sound financial management.

John earned a first attempt pass on the CPA exam. He is a member of the Illinois CPA Society, MACPA (Michigan), and the Outsourcing Institute. Mr. Ruther holds an MBA from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign where he graduated with honors. In recognition of his high scholastic achievement, John was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma international honor society for collegiate schools of business.

Mr. Ruther now acts as the Ruther Group, LLC's principal consultant.

 

Standards for Consulting Services:

Client interest. Serve the client interest by seeking to accomplish the objectives established by the understanding with the client while maintaining integrity and objectivity

Understanding with the Client. Establish with the client a written or oral understanding about the responsibilities of the parties and the nature, scope, and limitations of services to be performed, and modify the understanding if circumstances require a significant change during the engagement.

Communication with client. Inform the client significant reservations concerning the scope or benefits of the engagement, and significant engagement findings or events.

Professional competence. Undertake only those engagements that the firm can reasonably expect to be completed with professional competence.

Due professional care. Exercise due professional care in the performance of services.

Planning and supervision. Adequately plan and supervise the performance of services.

Sufficient relevant data. Obtain sufficient data to afford a reasonable basis for conclusions or recommendations in relation to any services performed
